PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TPO Base Coat is a rubber base coat that provides excellent waterproofing and reinforcement of various single-ply substrates. It is a one-component product that has excellent adhesion to properly prepared surfaces. TPO Base Coat is thermally stable and resists cracking and peeling due to weather extremes. ***For long-term ultraviolet exposure, TPO Base Coat must be top coated with Single-Ply Rubber Roof Coating or Premium Rubber Roof Coating.
TYPE OF APPLICATIONS:
- TPO
- Hypalon
- EPDM
- Modified Bitumen
- Built-up Roofs
- Urethane Foam
GENERAL SURFACE PREP
The surface must be free of any oils, moisture, soil or other contaminates that may interfere with good adhesion. Remove any loose material from seams or other surfaces. Oil and grease should also be removed with solvents or an appropriate detergent cleaner. In many cases high pressure water blast will be sufficient to prepare the surface.
For best results, apply TPO Base Coat when ambient air and the substrate is within 50 – 100°F. For best spray application, the product should be at a minimum of 60°F. Lower temperatures can be utilized for brush.
TPO Base Coat can be applied by brush, spray or roller. Best results can be obtained with airless spray equipment.
LIMITATIONS AND PRECAUTIONS
TPO Base Coat contains a blend of solvents which is considered combustible by D.O.T. and O.S.H.A. standards. It should be used and stored away from flames, in a well-ventilated atmosphere. Avoid prolonged breathing of vapors and prevent contact with eyes. Read all label information and precautions before using.
