Excellent water, vapor and gas barrier; temperature tolerance from minus 60 to 300 F ozone and UV stability; broad chemical resistance, from strong bases to acids; high dielectric value; excellent corrosion protection on steel and aluminum; not affected by salts; resists cathodic disbondment; easily repairable. EPDM rubber and

EPDM Coatings are the best solutions for roof repair and roof leaks.

Colors and Coloring EPDM:

Liquid EPDM comes standard in white, grey and black. Custom colors can be made for orders of more than 100 gallons as the adding of the colorant is part of the manufacturing process. You can paint over the liquid EPDM. However, it should be done well after the full cure process, a minimum of a month after application. The EPDM should be wiped down with a rag soaked in either xylene or mineral spirits prior to painting. Water based acrylic paint or polyurethane paints are recommended.

Liquid Rubber General Preventative Maintenance For Roofs:

During new construction, caulks and sealants are used to waterproof around flashings, vents and other protrusions from your roof. EPDM Liquid Rubber acts as a shield to protect existing caulks and sealants and extend their lives substantially. The useful lives of metal roofs, whether galvanized steel or aluminum, can also be extended. EPDM Liquid Rubber is the best and also the most cost-effective product for solving this problem. Liquid Roof does not chalk or shrink. Liquid Rubber's one-coat application saves you time and money sealing and protecting the roof while increasing its value!

Easily applied over metal, rubber, fiberglass, concrete, wood, fabric and foam. Best solution for roof leaks repair.

Liquid Rubber Concrete

Concrete and masonry should not be porous or of a type that will absorb liquids to between about 1/8 and 1/4 inch. If they are you will not have adequate curing. For example, on brick, Liquid Rubber will have a tendency to be absorbed by porous brick and may not cure adequately. The answer would be to paint the brick with a non-gloss paint or primer to "fill in the voids," let that dry, then coat it with Liquid Rubber.

EPDM Liquid Rubber Over Sheet Rubber:

EPDM Liquid Roof is recommended for application over sheet rubber because it has the same chemistry flexibility, leak repair properties and weathering characteristics. The leak repair ability of EPDM Coatings is tested and enhanced. We Offer a long-lasting leaks repair. EPDM Liquid Rubber does not chalk and can be used to eliminate the chalking of sheet rubber. When a solvent-containing product like Liquid Rubber comes in contact with sheet rubber, the applicator should be prepared for a phenomenon that which will make it appear as if something has gone radically wrong. Some of the solvent in Liquid Rubber will be absorbed by the sheet rubber and cause it to swell. If the sheet is not glued tightly to the plywood the swelling will cause wrinkles or bubbles to form. Depending on the temperature, this condition will persist for days or sometimes weeks. However, as the Liquid Roof begins its cure process, and the solvent slowly evaporates, the sheet will shrink and return to its original shape. Do not apply Liquid Rubber in a heavy film, as this will aggravate the swelling reaction in the sheet.

Recoating Liquid Rubber

Since EPDM Liquid Rubber cures by chemical reaction, a single heavy application will be preferable to multiple thin coats. A second coat will bond to a previous film but that bond will not be as strong as the internal bond within each layer. If a second coat is applied before the first has thoroughly cured, some wrinkling may result as the first coat absorbs solvent and swells. This will, however, resolve as the solvent evaporates. It is generally recommended that only a single coat be applied over non-porous surfaces, the thickness of which can be varied as desired. Thicker films will take longer to cure through.

Asphalt Based Coating:

Asphalt coatings and asphalt built-up roofs are considered unstable substrates and, therefore, are not recommended for direct coating with Liquid Rubber EPDM. We do carry a specific elastomeric that with a two-coat application gives you a 10-year warranty.

RV Repair - Roof Repair - Before and After Image

Did you know the average RV has at least five penetrations through its roof-skylights, refrigerator vents, and air-conditioner and plumbing vent? Each of these has a flashing around it. The roof skin has three or four seams and must also be sealed around the entire perimeter. Most manufacturers will apply acrylic or butyl rubber caulk around the roof penetrations and seams to seal against the intrusion of water. Initially the caulks are flexible and adhere tightly to the surface; however, after five or six years of continuous exposure to ultraviolet rays from the sun plus the ozone in our atmosphere, a gradual embrittlement and loss of adhesion occurs in these caulks. This process eventually leads to cracking and then to leaks. The application of Liquid Roof will greatly delay the onset of age-related problems with caulks. Trailers and RVs, campers, houseboats, etc, all have roofs that will pond water. Those of you living in the Gulf states experience sudden afternoon showers. Those in the Northern states experience rapid temperature drops late in the day during spring and fall. These kinds of situations might result in acrylic coating products being partially if not totally destroyed. Do not apply Liquid Roof over cream-colored ALPHA rubber. It is best to check with the manufacturer regarding your current roof system. Liquid Roof is the best and also the most cost-effective product for solving this problem.

For Pond Owners

Click Here for Fishpond Project with Photos . PondPro 2000 is a specially formulated liquid EPDM designed EPDMPondPro Canto protect fish and plant life when fully cured. Use for the following: Ponds, waterproofing fishponds, leaks repair, pond liners, fountains, and reflecting pools. Fix leaks for a fraction of the cost of new EPDM liners or costly reconstruction projects. The same chemical capability and durability as EPDM pond liners but with the distinct advantage of being a liquid. PondPro 2000 conforms to any shape protrusion or corner and self-levels giving you a smooth EPDM surface that is impermeable to water. Concrete that has not been modified with special additives must be protected by an impervious coating when used for containing water. Unprotected concrete will absorb water which can then leach out soluble constituents and cause spalling when frozen. The combination of outdoor exposure plus water immersion creates a demanding environment for a coating. It must have high resistance to water penetration, be flexible enough to withstand extremes in temperature, and not be affected by ultraviolet radiation from the sun. PondPro 2000 possess all these characteristics and is nontoxic to fish.

Preparation: Drain water and clean surface dirt while concrete is still wet. You may need to use a high-pressure water spray and/or scouring surface with a wire brush in fishponds. If algae are present, treat with an algaecide or 25% solution of bleach, let stand for one hour, and rinse well. Allow one week (rain free) for concrete to dry. If you are using this in koi tanks in immersion conditions, make sure you have one coat of liquid EPDM and that you have a full cure. To achieve this, let cure in air (without water) for about one week in 70 degress Fahrenheit or more. Soak and rinse the tank several times with water before making it ready for the koi. The soaking and rinsing will ensure you get out any residue solvents after the curing process. You will of course need to prepare the water for the koi in whatever normal way you prepare koi tanks/ponds.

Whether your pond is concrete, plastic or rubber-lined, PondPro 2000 can fix your leaks troubles. Plastic pond liners have a tendency to crack or tear. Products such as tapes and caulks will eventually wear. PondPro 2000, on the otherhand, will not. For concrete ponds the easiest solution for leaks is to cover them with a rubber liner, but these liners are tricky to install. PondPro 2000 provides an easy one-time solution for your pond, whether it is made of rubber, concrete or plastic. And yes, it is safe for fish! Print Pond Instruction Sheet Here

Liquid Rubber for Coating Plywood:
Liquid Rubber has been used directly over plywood to make a finished roof in situations where expediency and minimal cost were the primary considerations. Although this procedure results in a weaker roof structure, watertightness can be achieved if the application is performed carefully. We suggested you apply on bare wood at 40 mil. The joint between sheets should be positioned directly over a roof truss and securely fastened to prevent warping. Next, to seal the pores, coat plywood with an oil-based primer. Allow an overnight cure. Seal the joint by bridging it with a 6-inch-wide polyester fabric strip. Apply a light coat of EPDM rubber over the joint, lay fabric into the wet rubber, and smooth out wrinkles. Complete the job by applying a liberal coat of Liquid Rubber over the entire roof surface, being especially careful to completely cover the fabric over the joint without skips or pinholes. Using an oilbased primer on the wood considerably improves the appearance of a one-coat application of Liquid Rubber.

wood repair liquid rubber

Liquid Rubber is excellent for wood surfaces repair Projects; Liquid Rubber can be applied to wood. We recommend first applying a primer coat using an oil-based primer, and then applying the Liquid Rubber after the primer has dried. Liquid Rubber can be colored using universal colorants available at any paint store. You can add up to 1 cup per gallon of paint thinner for easier handling when going over wood. Liquid Rubber is slippery when there is only a fine mist of water on its surface. Silicone and oil-based materials are considered unstable and should be avoided.
